Doctor Who 50th Anniversary E-Shorts
review 1: The Roots of Evil features the fourth Doctor, Leela and K9. Leela is missing the open air and the trees of her home so the Doctor take her to see the Heligan Structure, a giant tree space-station (yes you read that correctly a tree space station). This space station houses an entire civillisation who don't exactly welcome the Doctor with open arms, rather the opposite in fact, and the entire population have been bought up on tales of how evil and nasty he is, with people having names such as Vengeance-Will-Be-Ours-When-The-Doctor-Dies-A-Thousand-Agonising-Deaths and Agony-Without-End-Shall-Be-The-Doctor’s-Punishment. Again this story is typical of the era in which it is set and also the characterisation of the regulars is once more spot on and we even got a very short ca... moremeo from K9 which was again very typical of that particular series of the show with him not having finished charging himself up so that he couldn’t participate any further in the story. This is another really short story, but is a fun quick read with some very interesting concepts, and quite a nice little twist for people about why the inhabitants of the tree want the Doctor dead.
review 2: This is the fourth book in the series of the 50th Anniversary E-Shorts. This short focuses on the Fourth Doctor and Leela. The E-short is about a plant, that is full of trees and they want revenge on the Doctor, they want him dead. It's not just the trees that want revenge it's the citizens. One day the Doctor and Leela arrive on the planet... The time has come for the Doctor to die! What will happen when the citizens and the rotors of the trees want to bring the Doctor down!?The characters in this were okay but compared to the other characters in the novellas in the series I was really disappointed. The main character the Fourth Doctor, I have mixed feelings about this character because the main character normally has to be good to make the story good but this wasn't the case! He was interesting at the very least but didn't like him compared to the other Doctors. The companion Leela was a bit annoying and I didn't really care about her to be honest. We had some supporting characters in this novella their names being 'The Justiciar', who is the person who is supposed to decide the fate of the Doctor. I really liked her character in this because she appeared quite frequently and I would to see her in more appearances in the series. I also liked her son 'Ven' in the novella because his character at first was some what a mysterious character because he went from a bad guy to a good guy in a matter of a couple of pages. Wow! I I thought that this novella was a massive drop compared to the third Doctor novella. The only things I liked in this novella was the brief mention of Matt Smith. I really liked how they mentioned him in it which I liked how they did it. I also liked the cameo appearance of K9 at the beginning but wished he was used in it to get the Doctor and Leela out of trouble. To be honest the only good aspects of this were the supporting characters and the mystery of the roots. I might continue on with the series but the series at the moment is a hit and miss. less

A bit too short, but fun. I wouldn't mind living in a floating tree house in outer space, myself.

This didn't sound like 4's voice to me, but still entertaining.

Really didn't do anything for me.
