review 1: Ridiculous yet good at the same time. I love these interplanetary wars, except Mrs. Mumby always seems to have a slight advantage. Like traveling really fast. Although she's supposed to be weak, she can /still/ use that ampule of darkness. Speaking of the ampule, if it was only supposed to affect Shapers, then how in the name of hooloovoo was Art's mother supposed to survive the blast?
review 2: I was scared and eager to begin this book. I loved the first two, but feared the ending would leave too much open, or not enough. I'd spent too much time with these wonderful characters to just say goodbye, especially if it was a shoddy goodbye. I needn't have worried. Everything about this book I loved, just as much as the first too. Art was still his wonderful, q
... moreuirky, high daring self though with a bit more sense then before. I adored Charity and believe she is the girl Art will end up marrying - after all, one can't imagine he will end up with a girl like Myrtle. Jack was still amazing. Seeing him around Myrtle was a bit odd, but I can better see why he likes her now. And it was fun getting to fight with him one last time, to face down an impossible enemy and fly to the furthest reaches of space to save...well, space. Myrtle, what can I say? I didn't want to shove her out of the ship anymore. She is sweeter now, and more daring. (I think even Art would agree.) And what she did at the ending...aye, that was very sweet. The ending wasn't one of those, "He married her and I married her and mum and dad did this." But was so brilliantly done I was grinning widely and imagining Art joining Jack after school and becoming a spy like Sir Richard and Ulla. Charity at their side, trying to figure out how to use the cannons with Art. Everything about this book I loved. And it is a series I highly recommend. less

Like the rest of the series, it's great...except for the annoying personality of Myrtle.

I have to admit being hooked in the first chapter when the puddding went rogue.

Delightful as always, with an extra dose of girl power this time.
