review 1: I am a Phillipa Ashley fan after reading a couple of her contemporary romance novels. This is a little different from her other novels with a more adult theme.Fevercure begins with a meeting at a wedding between the two main characters Keira and "Mr Scarily Handsome" otherwise known as Dr Tom. The ice is broken when Keira drops something from her handbag outside the church, her knickers to be precise.I was drawn in from the off. In olden days a lady would drop her handkerchief to get attention from a suitor, how times have changed LOLI warmed to the characters and the storyline was very good. The only downside was that this had a great storyline for a contemporary romance and great sexy scenes worthy of a racy read but I felt I could not decide which sub-genre it was. R... moreacy reads do not usually have such a good story behind them and contemporary romances do not have the racy scenes. I do like racy reads but would have preferred this one to have concentrated on the background story of these fab characters.Get ready for a sexy read. There is adult scenes in the novel. 3 and half out of 5 for me.review copy
review 2: I was so excited when I heard about this book and was surprised when I found out it was going to be released electronically first, with a print version to come later. I was also lucky enough to win a copy from Ms.Ashley. Thank you once again!I love the premise of this story; two people who are fighting an attraction for each other, even as they know there are roadblocks in their paths. Keira is your girl-next-door, grounded, strong woman. She knows she's attracted to Tom, but his hot-and-cold routine leaves her confused. Tom, is the son of an earl, a doctor, and just an amazing male specimen. He's drawn to Keira but can not help himself and he rudely draws away from her because of his own internal struggle.I love how both Keira and Tom have tough issues that help shape them. You can not help but feel for them as they try to fight what they are feeling and do what they think is the right thing. I do wish there was a little more about Keira's past relationship with Alex and how that affected her dealings with Tom. It would have been nice if Tom could have learned of Alex and exactly what effect he had on Keira so he could learn and adapt his behaviors that were off putting to her. But I can not wait for this to come out in paperback so I can add it to my library and look forward to Ms.Ashley's next book! less
