review 1: I loved this book, and am using it in the girls' book club I lead for 10-13 year olds at the library where I work. It is a wonderful novel with a tremendous sense of place and time, and lots of mysteries. I agree with other reviewers who feel the cover is misleading and does not accurately reflect the story. The sequel, Romeo Blue, is excellent too. It is somewhat more complicated but definitely a worthy successor to The Romeo and Juliet Code.
review 2: loved it, I give it 10 out of 10. it takes place during world war two but doesn't get into full detail about world war two. the girl(Felicity Budwig/Flissy)is left with family members in bottlebay main she barely knows. and is solving the mysteries of captain Derek who never comes out of his room. she also h
... moreas to solve some family mysteries about her own parents. this book is great, it has a little romance and a bit of comedy.10 stars out of 10 less
