review 1: The fact that i didn't like it has nothing to do with the first part.I admit it was disturbing, but in his genre it can be considered as quite good. But the second part is just disappointing. After all the abuse and stuff, I expected a long emotional way and a big development in their relationship as the story continues. Now it felt more like the author wanted to give us the feel of a happy end but didn't really think it important.I'd like the book a lot more if the second part was put central and e.g. the abuse was put through the book by using e.g. flash backs, that way my stomach would have been more able to handle it all and it would have taken a hell of a less time to struggle through it.I liked Bloodraven, but this one didn't fulfil expectations.
review 2:
... more In the end, this really just was not my cup of tea. I spent the first half of the book wanting to sic PETA and the ASPCA on the Neko-cat's slavers. I can normally tolerate a fairly dark theme, but this really didn't give me any reward for the sadistic torture. I was happy to meet the trapper, but the last half of the book had a bit of an unfinished feel to me. Don't think I would ever want to try to read this one again. less

For such a harsh beginning I just needed more closure and HEA than what I got.
