review 1: A very fast pace novel which centre around relationships with typical characters of a big businessman with bored wife, a lover boy dumped once, getting into another and at the same time gets a call of restarting from ex etc. the present generation can very much relate to in reality. A very easy to read book. Some of the philosophy and quotes indicated in the novel may be inspired by the author reading epic books like 'Man's search for meaning' by victor e frankl where in it is quoted ' forces beyond your control can take away every thing you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you respond to the situation'.The author and the book may not be in the league of jhumpa'sand the Amitav's and the vikram's, but certainly is popular among the very young crowd who c... morean relate to all the protagonist. With the amount of increasing readerships and awareness in India, I am sure authors like Preeti shall give a more indepth, more gripping characterisation in forthcoming novels.
review 2: Well this was my first ever Preeti Shenoy's that I have read...This just turned out to be just like one of those precious pure pearls that you find in the vast expanse of sand under the sea.A big fat bravo to this one. I entitle the three E's to this...excellent,eccentric,enticing.The twists of fate that you witness is arcane. The story unfolds in different perspectives, and you find yourself to be in the shoes of every single one of those protagonists. She has that kind of dexterity with her way of articulating the story which leaves you gaping for more. The climax, however, happens out of the blue. And the end is simply narrated out in a nutshell, which I never expected. It just narrows down to the end.Overall, it is a book that doesn't leave you disappointed(except for the conclusion). Its the one that you'll be proud to have in your collection. less
