review 1: I received this book as a Goodreads award - it has taken me a while to get to it because of bookclub books, etc. This is definitely an entertaining read - a thriller that is kind of a combination of Grisham and Brown. It kept me interested - at the end of a chapter, I just wanted to start the next one. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I will definitely look for additional books by him.
review 2: P. S Meronek has become one of my new favorite authors. This is the third book of his I have won in a Goodreads giveaway. In all three of his books, his characters are strong, powerful and interesting. The Joshua Effect shows us the possibilities of terrorist attacks in the U.S that is not reveled in the daily news. Meronek reminds us in thi... mores book that the threats are still as strong if not stronger since 9/11/2001 and we must be forever on guard. I admire his characters, especially the strong, independent women. Can't wait for his next book. less
