review 1: I loved this book so much. The Fallocaust series as a whole is about shit hitting the fan, settling on the ground momentarily before the fan explodes and the roof starts falling in. After the previous two books in the series I was beginning to worry that all of the books would be formulaic with situation-conflict-resolution, situation-conflict-resolution, etc until the book is over. This one starts off blending the main characters and storylines from Book 1 and Breaking Jade together, and there's a lot of fun moments where I just got to enjoy the characters interacting without worrying about that fan exploding. The ride ends up being a way more intense than before and now that it is following several characters and storylines at once I feel like the author is startin... moreg to really come into his own.I'm reading some of the other reviews and I wonder if I'm just blindly in love with this series, but everything about it is addicting. Also if you are going to read it, you can't just start here or you really will not be able to appreciate the character development that goes on.
review 2: I can't believe I actually read this the past 2 hours. My depraved mind...This series will basically make you go WTF the entire time. It's like the author just wanted to throw as much disturbing shit in here as possible-rape, torture, cannibalism, violence, rinse, and repeat. It bordered on ludicrous, so it wasn't really disturbing. The writing really isn't so great. There's lots of typos. All the characters are still running around acting like freakin psychos and/or budding serial killers. (But Reaver still has some manic charm.) Many, many times I was thinking to myself "WTF are you still reading this for???" I don't know. I really don't know. But I'll most likely read the next one soon. less
