review 1: This was my first manga. I have read graphic novels before, but this was my first manga, manga. I didn't understand how to read the pages at first. It was a lot of fun starting from the back of the book and reading from right to left teehee, what a lame thing to say I know, but I did have fun reading this book.Now for the story....As some of you may know I loove Alice stories and this one was very good. I don't know if this could be a book were people don't want spoilers but I'll give a quick play through the first volume of this story. Like all Alice stories it starts with Alice in the garden and then she falls down a rabbit hole. In this story....Alice is forced into a game of sorts. She does not know the rules but to get home she must interact with the people of wonderl... moreand. It turns out to be quite a hassle because everyone is falling in love with her and she has to figure out how to get around the insta-love and all the death threats. In wonderland everyone carries weapons and there is no care for bodily harm because no one dies in wonderland. So many fights break out to win the affection of Alice. It's all really silly. The drawings like all Manga are beautiful. All the characters are super cute and dressed nice and ripped teehee! Boris the cat is a little sexy with his pierced navel and crop top teehee!!!Can't wait to read vol 2. I need to know what happens with Ace and Julius.
review 2: I found this manga an engaging reimagined version of the Alice in Wonderland story. The heroine is Alice, of course, and Wonderland is a world divided into four areas, three of which are at war. Each is ruled by a Wonderland character: the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, and a third character that I think is the White Knight. There's a dream like quality to the world, and enough intrigue set up that I'd read more of this series if I can find it. It was published by the defunct Tokyopop, whose books seem to be becoming increasingly scarce. less
