review 1: I'm still trying to get into and understand graphic novels as this was not an art form I was used to. I thought this series would be a good one for me since I adore the original Alice in Wonderland and any variations on it. Let's start by agreeing that the original Alice is completely nuts batshit crazy. This book is no crazier, and very fun. The artwork is lovely. The plot moves along quickly. You get to meet the very fun Alice cast, and get lost in her world (literally lost when Ace is around). Each character is wonderfully visualized. Boris as the Cat is so stinking cute I just want to bring him home and flea dip him. Nightmare and Julius are particularly well illustrated. There are several good reviews out there so I won't drag it out, but if you are looking for a ... morefun way to get into manga this might be it. I've already picked up book two.
review 2: This manga is very cliche ok?! I hate the fact that alice is the Damsel in Distress character. All the character a good looking characters, and all of them love her! Total Mary Sue. The only thing I appreciate about this is that it doesn't full on copy the original story, so that's good. I can't bring myself to read anymore of it.If the creator had a chance to fix this up, I would recommend this-Not every character should be in love with her got it!?Why are pretty much almost all the character good looking? That destroys the original foundation of the true story!Alice should have some flaws ok? She's human, she can't be perfect in every way.A Mary Sue usually has everyone loving her except for the enemy, and that isn't good. It isn't normal for everyone to love you. A character who isn't evil doesn't have to like her. Example, in alice in wonderland movie, the real life version, the mouse didn't appreciate her. I understand that in the Disney version, everyone except the queen disliked her, but if u remember, they all pinned the blame on alice!That is all, thank you. less
