review 1: I wanted to like this, the summary was good and so was the first chapter but it soon became a chore to read. Emily didn't spark a lot of interest and Isabel (the main character from the 50s timeline) soon became annoying. Specially when she couldn't connect with her own baby and valued her job more then anything else. She was supposed to portray the modern woman, but modern women don't generally hate their babies. So really she and the rest of the story soon got on my last nerve. This book actually left me sad when it ended and I am relieved to have put it down.
