review 1: There's a lot I didn't like about this book but I won't knock it since the reasons I didn't like is probably because I'm not an actress, or going through what she goes through, and I don't know enough about Shakespeare and the book doesn't do such a good job of making it relatable to everyone that isn't a phenom for tragedies. I guess I just read a book for a specific audience that wasn't for me, which in my opinion no book should make you feel like an outcast. All in all I didn't hate it, but eh. would not recommend.
review 2: This book was amazing! I couldn't give it five stars but that's just for small things that I couldn't get around. Other then that I finished in a few hours it was that good. First off the lead character Caddie has an OCD type of disorder
... more and for me that was really hard to read (I don't personally have the problem but just trying to put myself in her shoes for the stories sake and I was going a bit mad myself). She has "games" and tries to use those to control fate and those around her. Don't touch ends up being a serious problem for the whole book which I was hoping to see her actually making more progress to start trying with Peter but that didn't happen, So in which created my main problem with the book. I wanted Caddie to break out of this bubble of hers but the whole time she mantra herself to death and cringe away or tell herself that no I want him to do it first when in reality he couldn't it needed to be her! So it drove me crazy to say the least. I loved how all the side characters were developed because if it wasn't for some of them I'm not sure I could've stuck this one out. I fell in love with Peter and Mandy because they were such good supporting characters. The story in a whole moves rather quickly. You have them working on this play and its interesting to read about it and I found it to be a breath of fresh air read for YA since its been awhile since I can say I've enjoyed one. A great four star read, and a possible re-read for the future. less
