review 1: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The book came at the perfect time! This short book offers 60 devotionals that remind us to set our affections on eternal things... the only things that will matter when we die. I love that Alcorn presents various Scriptures and also quotes from famous Christian authors, preachers, theologians, etc. I was encouraged through the reading of this book and plan to pass it along to a family member. review 2: I won this book through a GoodReads Giveaway, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to read it. I had mixed feelings about this book when I finished reading it. Not being a Christian myself, I enjoy reading perspectives on all religions and using them to help clarify my own world ... moreview. I think this would be a great daily "journal entry" reminder for Christians who share the author's beliefs. The segments are short and sweet and are interspersed both with quotes from scripture and quotes from famous world leaders, movers, and shakers.I did feel that most of the opinions were directed specifically at those people sharing this perspective. If you don't share these opinions, therefore, venture into this book with an open mind. less
