review 1: This book was all right. I didn't know this was a part of a series, so some of the back story was missing for me. I had read The Last Templar the first Ryan book, so I had an idea of who Sean Ryan was, but I didn't know what had happened in the interim. It was a decent mixing of history and modern tech, but it was lacking something. It built up to something big, but was a bit of a let down for me. Fans of Khoury will like it, but I felt let down.
review 2: I thought when I read the book cover that there was no way I would read this whole book-it's definitely not something I would really want to read, but it sucked me in and mired me in the quicksand for the duration-I was pleasantly pleased and had a hard time putting it down each night. I obviously am not
... more one for writing book reviews-When I see CIA or KGB, I think of spy novels and espionage and that's not my thing-decided to read this as new fiction and really glad I did. Excellent book! less
