review 1: The fourth book continues the Manchurian Candidate-esque story from the previous book, and it literally opens with a bang: the Pope is assassinated. Like in the second book, Templars are tangential to the plot, but Holliday works in opposition to the Rex Deus cabal introduced in previous books who want to usurp the history, resources and mysteries of the Templars for their own ends. This book feels less like Bourne Identity and more like a Bond film. Lightweight international plot, high stakes, and a slam-bang ending. The Rex Deus storyline continues on in the series.
review 2: It's Christmas Day, the pope has been murdered, and world has been turned on its head. Christopher opens his latest book with this revelation and it builds from there. The book is tied t
... moreo its predecesor, in which politics plays the central role. I love a good political thriller where the author can toss in some templar mystery.Another thoroughly enjoyable book in the series. Where was this intensity in the Finn Ryan series? While those ones fell flat as the books move on, the Holliday series keeps getting better.I love how these books get better with each title, how each character grows with each chapter. Where the Ryan series flopped, Holliday et. al. make me want more... now to wait until July! less

It was OK. No historical stuff, just modern day conspiracy to assassinate the president.

Just ok. Not as suspenseful or entertaining as other authors. Filled a void.
