review 1: This novel is way better than the first one in series. But I just can't get the taste of Khoury story telling. I mean, books of that genre make me read them in a lightning speed and they make me glued to their pages. Khoury's on the other hand does not. Maybe my own problem. The story paces better than the first one, but in my honest opinion, there is too much dead bodies for my taste. Iranian murdering rampage was too much. But I liked the part when he finally died.Even though this book was superior to the first one, I still dislike main characters and the pace. I swapped Khoury for Steve Berry and his work I do like, far better. Not saying don't read this. Please do. Make your own opinion, but as I have said, there are better conspiracy novels out there with more likeabl... moree characters.
review 2: I have to admit that while still enjoying this book, I did prefer the first one in the series. In places this was a bit predictable, whereas in other areas it stretched the bounds of believability a little too far. Once again it all starts with being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or at least it did for Tess Chaykin. A panic call to Sean Reilly soon involves him in the storyline, which once again involves something that the Templars had been guarding for a long time but had disappeared. A chance finding of a letter soon starts everything rolling.Sean is soon running round the Vatican with a mystery man, his bosses don't even know where he is, and things just seem to go from bad to worse for him. On the plus side this book did answer a question from the first book, but I'll let you find that out for yourself. less

Very good...in keeping with his other books, good combination of current day and history.

Another action packed thriller with a really evil bad guy and very charismatic good guys.
