review 1: I have started the Wolf's mate series and instead of moving onto book 4. sidetracked to this because I loved Callie and the Cats and wanted to see how the males were faring in their new environment away from the loony females!! I loved the family dynamics with the Boarding House and all the males working together to make it a home and also catching up with Callie and her hubby's and their kids. I don't like drawn out courtships, but damn, Samantha moved in fast, even after Grant telling her he was a were cat didn't even cause a blip on the radar - get in!!! When Samantha, Grant and Aaron make a go of their relationship, it was great that the kids were happy to get a much wanted mum, but it also gave the other males hope for their HEA's. The drama comes from the loony f... moreemales - really, someone should put them out of their misery!! It was interesting to have some more details about the "bears" from a local town and their interaction with the pride. Looking forward to reading the next one! Really enjoyed this book.
review 2: The book was given to me by the author via Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock in exchange for an honest review.Let me start off by saying I am not a fan of M/F/M books. I like my alpha male and a nice strong female and then a few sidekicks thrown in to make a good story. I still feel that way after reading this book. However, the family dynamic in this story made it work for me. I loved that all those males lived in a pride without females, with their small children. When Aaron and Grant find Samantha and know that she is their mate, it makes the kids so happy, and the other males in the pride so hopeful, that it made a good read. I have read several other books by RE Butler and really enjoyed them. And even though I do not like "sharing" mates, the sex scenes in this one were well written. I was not crazy about the fact that there was no explanation that shifters and other paranormal creatures were known about by the general public early on. When Grant tells Samantha that he is a cat, she just accepts it and goes to bed with him. There was no adjustment period, no questions, just "Ok, lets make love". Had there been an explanation somewhere in the story prior to that, it would have been easier to take. I give it 3 stars. less
