This is book three in the Fallen Kingdoms series. See my reviews for book one and two. So this book continues on with the struggle to find the Kindred and take over the world (basically). Everyone has their own reason for wanting the Kindred and using Princess Lucia to find them.
This is going to be a rather incoherent review since I seem to find it very hard to describe this series.
In this book we introduce another piece to the puzzle (which might have been briefly introduced in the last book.. yes, it was) and that is the Kraeshians from across the sea (ie, from a different country) where apparently people are very blunt and bloodthirsty.
I have to say, Jonas is starting to really bug me. I mean, I understand why he does what he does but he just seems bad at everything. As though all the things he tries just end up with more people dead. Also whatever is between him and Cleo is very weird and yeah…
The theme of people suddenly falling in love to have the person they love suddenly die continues. Some of these relationships kind of make sense and others feel a bit forced. Also none of the relationships are really healthy at all… I mean, when you love someone who is terrible for you or you pretend to love someone just to use them…
Although this book is definitely not perfect, it is addictive. So freaking addictive. Like the last book, I finished this in a day and even though it feels like a lot happens in this book it also covers very little time (I think this is a growing trend with the series and would explain why it is so long…).
But yeah, addictive reading about manipulation and greed and backstabbing (both literally and figuratively). Go out and start the series if you are ready for some serious commitment or have a bunch of free time.

Also pardon the terrible image quality. I’m not sure why it is so hard to get good cover images.
