review 1: Ok, I am big enough to admit when I am wrong. I am glad I didn't totally write off Susan Kearney after 'Lucan'. I was so angry by that novel, anyway...I am glad I didn't totally write her off because I enjoyed Rion very much. Rion and Marisa (Lucan's sister) are both strong characters and they both have some pent up lust going on there from page one. This story seemed to have a purpose to me, more so than the first book. The plot is action packed and moved at a quick pace and the sensuality was uh...on the boiling level. I think I will hold out and give Julian a try when it is released soon as well.
review 2: I have to say for not reading the first book I did not feel totally lost, yes there where some parts where I wish i had more details but the author does a
... more good job of flash back of converstations that have taken place in the first book. This book follows Marissa and Rion, who Marisa finds out she is EXTERMELY attracted too. While they embark on discovering their desires for each other Rion has other plans that could change how Marisa will feel about him in the near future. There is lots of action in this book and I for one did not feel bored while reading it. The sex scenes are hot not just for how they are written but the sex between Rion and Marisa plays a big role in how Rion discovers the truth of his planets demise as well as discovers a way for Rion to free his planet and his people. less

Not as good as the first book in the series. I struggled to get through this book.
