[Manga] Dengeki Daisy vol. 1

After orphan Teru Kurebayashi loses her beloved older brother, she finds solace in the messages she exchanges with DAISY, an enigmatic figure who can only be reached through the cell phone her brother left her.

One day at school Teru accidentally breaks a window and agrees to pay for it by helping Kurosaki, the school custodian, with chores around school. Kurosaki is a slave driver and a bit of jerk. Despite their constant disagreements Kurosaki is there to help Teru in her greatest time of need.

I hadn’t read  shojo manga in quite some time. I’d forgotten why I like them so much. I might be almost 30 years old, but Dengeki Daisy made me squee with all the fuzzy feelings. Perhaps I’m a romantic way way deep down inside, or perhaps I have the mentality of a teenage girl, not sure, doesn’t matter. This was so much fun to read. I can’t wait to read the second volume. No, like, I actually can’t wait to read the next volume. I hadn’t felt this excited about reading something in so long. It’s wonderful!

Score: 5/5 recommend it to all shojo loving peoples! And to peoples who are not familiar with the shojo genre and want to give it a try!
