Hey there! If you’re a fan of comedy, you DEFINITELY need to check out this new live album from Jeff Dye!
I saw him live in West Palm Beach about 2 years ago and it was one of the oddest shows I’ve ever experienced. Jeff was fantastic, but the audience comprised of mostly old people who probably got the tickets for free. They didn’t seem to get the majority of the jokes, which was unfortunate because the set was hilarious! I’d driven up from Miami with my best friend and my brother, so I was excited to meet him after the show. Needless to say, I was bummed when he didn’t come out to meet anyone afterwards. My brother spoke to someone at the venue, and Jeff came out specifically to meet us and then went back in his dressing room. To say I was stoked about his new live album is an understatement. It’s been a while since his last one and I didn’t know how much I needed this until I decided to listen to it at work today. (By the way . . . I’m still hoping for that Netflix special that was mentioned a while back!) As I was working and listening to the album, I found myself literally laughing out loud, so I would strongly suggest listening to this in your car or home if you work with judgy people with dry senses of humor. Just saying!
Jeff is not afraid to make his audience feel uncomfortable for the sake of the jokes and I think that’s part of his charm. Like most comics, they know that the reaction could go one of two ways and this guy does not give two shits which way that is. He commits to it, he sells it and he makes me laugh so much.
