A Barren Solitude

“Eight months of seclusion didn’t mend the eight years of stupidity that came before. Watching your loved ones die is stupid. Watching your friends go away is stupid. Watching the clock, waiting in a desk for permission to be free is stupid, especially after high school. You know what’s even stupider? Venturing out in solitude to heal your imagination, only to see it become barren. To be taunted by creative failure. To be hounded by a persistent Voice that just won’t leave you alone.”
