review 1: Kan sekere mense die weer beheer? In hierdie boek is daar twee karakters wat die wind kan laat waai - van 'n koel briesie tot 'n stormwind wat 'n huis omwaai!Twee mense, twee stories: Maddie, 'n jong regsgeleerde in San Francisco,2007 en Agnesca, in Toskane,1345.Ons beleef hulle lief en leed en die verbintenis oor baie eeue heen.Dit is 'n lekkerleesboek maar karakterisering is oppervlakkig en stereotiep.***
review 2: A few weeks ago, I happened upon a Rick Steves listener comment about this book being an excellent Historical Fiction about 14th Century Tuscany.I eagerly procured a copy, as it is an area that I know very little about. The bones of the story were interesting but it moved at a pace that I'll call languid rather than slow, and never quite captured ... moreme. Not a bad read, but nothing to rave about either. less
