It doesn’t seem like it was 5 years ago that I attended an event with the Youth Media Agency in London and listened to Ruby Mae Moore speak about Amor Magazine and I instantly felt inspired.
The idea behind Amor was to be produced by young women and to be read for the young woman.
I spoke to Ruby after her talk and she gave me her business card and a few days later, she called me and I started officially writing for Amor.
Receiving the magazines in the post and seeing my work being published online was something that I had never experienced before. It really shaped me as a person and pushed me in the right direction with my education and career path.
Over the past 5 years, I have learnt so much from Amor, Ruby and all the lovely writers behind it.
I’ve gone from being a beauty journalist with very little experience to now the Beauty Editor working with Public Relations companies and big brands such as Barry M, Magnitone, Bioderma, House of Holland and so many more whilst completing my degree in Journalism.
It’s an opportunity that I will forever be grateful for and over the past 5 years I have learnt so much and can’t wait to continue.
