Analysis of the views of EconoUniverse

As economists, we are taught some basic knowledge of statistics. As project, we have chosen to analyse the correlation between the views of a Facebook post and the actual views of the corresponding article. We have supposed that they are very closely dependent, because in theory the more people see the Facebook posts, the more people will actually open the link reading the article. The program used is R studio.

We have concluded that the two variables aren’t at all closely related. We suppose this is due to a higher number of people that reach the articles from other means than Facebook. In addition, we think that some features of the Facebook posts (such as the image, or the title) are more important in determining the choice of following the link than the number of people who have seen the articles. Finally, our numbers are probably too small to follow an evident and clear pattern.
