Autumn Reads

There is nothing better than settling down with a huge mug of something hot and a good page turner, I am always looking for the next fictional world to dive into.

So, as the evenings get shorter and the weather turns rainier, I thought I’d share a few of mine – just in case you’re in need of one or three. Here is a pretty broad selection so I hope you can find something to pick up from your local bookshop.

One: Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets by J.K Rowling

If you have no idea what the Harry Potter series is about then I don’t know where you’ve been but as always he- who- must- not- be- named is lurking in the shadows and a whole new dangerous yet heroic adventure begins for the golden trio.

A true classic perfect for both adults and children a great book for anyone in search of magic and adventure.

Two: Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie

Who doesn’t love a murder mystery? Agatha Christie writes some of the best, it might be a little bit ‘old school’ but that makes it even better as far as I’m concerned . Death on the Nile is a personal favourite of mine and a good place to start if you’ve never read any of her books.

Three: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Literally one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read.

I originally chose this purely based on the stunning cover when I was in a reading slump and I devoured it. A story so wonderfully written I haven’t stopped recommending it since I finished it. It completely takes you to a new world both beautiful and dark with so many twists and turns you almost feel sick.

Four: About Face by Aisling McDermott with Laura Kennedy

Throwing a non-fiction into the mix; if you are a beauty addict then you need this in your life! It’s rammed full of useful information for all those beauty and skin care questions even for the most advanced beauty gurus.

Five: Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz

Can you tell I like mystery books?

Moriarty is the newest addition in the Sherlock Holmes universe with the incredibly talented Anthony Horowitz taking over the mantle from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It’s another mystery thriller full of plot twists and surprises.

Now I’ve read all of these at least twice so please do send suggestions my way for a good page turner!
