Blessed Jerusalem

{Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.} Al-Qur’an 17:1

Old, Old Jerusalem

(Tom, Tom, the Piper’s Son)

Old, old Jerusalem,

it’s a blessed site for us and them,

the plants are blessed,

the land is blessed,

and animals are also blessed.

Old, Noble Sanctuary,

it’s a blessed site for you and me,

believers go

because they know

it has been blessed since long ago.

Old, old, Al-Aqsa hall,

it’s a blessed site for one and all,

let us go there,

and give our care,

and, like the prophets, offer prayer.
