A podcast is an informational tool used in a way sort of like a radio talk show. They can speak on any topic from history to social events that are going on. Most podcasts are ones you can listen to. Podcasts are becoming more and more popular because most of the time, they are free (Wikipedia).
The genres for a podcast are various and can stretch to anything you can think of. The types include history, technology, and comedy.
I think the part of my literacy narrative that would best fit a genre would be my main thesis. My thesis of how digital literacy helped develop me as a person would be put under the genres of technology and educational.
The audience I will present this essay of digital literacy will be my Professor, but also anyone else who wants to read it. My job is not to just get an A, but also win over my audience with my message (Professor Lang). If I am able to convince them that technology had a major part in my personal development than I have succeeded in meeting their expectations.
The most important element in creating a good podcast is giving a good hook. If there is no hook, then someone will not sit down for twenty minutes to listen to something. The message that is being presented has to be interesting enough to captivate the listener.
