Books of 2017

When I turned 30, one of my goals was to read more. I read books here and there the last few years. but it was 2016 when I discovered the Goodreads site, and then in 2017 when I finally used it on a regular basis. Thus, beginning a year of wonderful and exciting journeys into the different worlds created by Sarah J. Maas, Patrick Rothfuss, and Scott Lynch.

At first when I read these books, I was sad that I hadn’t read these books earlier. However, I’ve come to realize I still have many years ahead of me to enjoy reading, and I won’t have to wait as long because many of these series have finished or have at least a few books out.

This year, I have really enjoyed the following books/series:

  • The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
  • Caraval by Stephanie Garber
  • A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas
  • The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
  • The Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima
  • I am hoping to keep a log of the books I read from now on and also retroactively review some of the books I’ve read in the last few years. Perhaps if I reread them in the future I can compare my initial thoughts with my later reactions.
