Super exhausted after his weekend of much fun-ness, Bruno has asked me to type this blog on his behalf – something to do with his paws not reaching all the keys… so while he snoozes under his blanket, I will do my best to decipher his story between snores…
“So’s I was told we was goings camping; I wasn’ts so sure what that meant and thens all this stuffs was packed into boxes and puts at the front door. At firsts I was a little concerned (but I ams a very brave dog and don’ts show silly stuffs like feelings) and thens I saw my blankie and food bowl beings packed and I knews it would be all okays. I sats like a good boy on my blankie on the backseat and did my bestest not to play Backseat Driver… but the drive was very longs and I may have nodded offs just a little… I has never been goings camping before, so didn’ts know what to expect: no couch, no bed, no roof – this didn’ts seem like the goodest idea. So’s I thought I woulds stay in the car until my mommy made the sames realisation; she didn’ts. ‘Parently goings camping means sleeping in little flappy house the size of mommy’s, I means MY bed.
Beings a very cleverer dog, I figurered it would be bestest to get outs the car and starts exploring. I am not a scardsies cat (like the kitties at home tell me when I won’ts come close to them), but I thoughts I should protects Mommy whereevery she wents: to the river, to the other hooman’s flappy houses, to the loo… it was toughs keeping ups and I gots lost often, but my nose founded her (excepts for those times whens I founded the hoomans with sweeties and braai’des meat)… the hoomans was all very nicest and the mini hoomans all thoughted I was cute.
Mornings was a little chilly – but that didn’ts keeps me down: when Mommy got ups to make tea, I woulds sneak into her warm beds! And thoughted it would be bestest if I stayeds there until the sun rose a little mores, or untils Mommy mades her breakfast and needed my experts supervisions… afternoons was spent lazyings in the shade, getting more losts between the flappy houses, chillings at the river and goings for a walkies when we meeted a very friendly bunch of alpacas. They lookeds like the llamas in thats Disney movie but don’ts spits. I was a little scards, but pretendeds to be all big and braves by growlings at them…
And thens Mommy was puttings all the stuffs back in the car. I hads only just gottens comfortable enoughs to poop (I haves a very sensitives bowels movement). I trieds to stop them by sittings on the flappy house; then on the picnic blankie; then on anythings I could find. It didn’ts works. We wents home… buts at least the couch is still there and I tolds Mommy to looks on the line to take a lot my own flappy house ands a camping stool ands a blows up mattress ands alls the other important stuffs I need to be going camping again.
