review 1: I think I was probably 13 or 14 when I first read this book. Since then I've read it for so many times and I still get different impressions every single time. Although the story is told from Yayoi's perspectives, you can easily see it from those of somebody else.And that's what I like about this book because no matter how old you are, what your mood is at the moment, gender, or whatsoever, you will feel and find something as if it is made just for you.
review 2: Questo libro della Yoshimoto è come se fosse una specie di ritorno alle origini, la trama regge bene, anche se sinceramente una cosa io devo ancora capirla (non la scrivo qui altrimenti anticiperei troppo). Molti temi cari all`autrice vengono analizzati con sentimento e grazia. Un bel libro, anche piu... morettosto corto (il che non guasta, l`importante è che sia intenso). Se non vi piacciono le stranezze, i rapporti ambigui però, non vi consiglio l`acquisto. less
