Plot: Collecting the first seven issues of the epic AfterShock series!
At the cusp of the 1898 World’s Fair, America is poised to become Earth’s most industrious nation. When a terrible power emerges from the darkness, a group of unlikely heroes team-up to stop it. A tortured Teddy Roosevelt recruits a struggling Coney Island magician named Harry Houdini: a hard-drinking, gun-slinger, Annie Oakley; a financially strapped and aging Thomas Edison; and a boisterous, womanizing African American boxer with a big chip on his shoulder named Jack Johnson. These legends of old will soon wage a shadow war that will change the course of history for America, and the world. That is of course, if they don’t kill one another first.
Don’t miss out on this first collection from ADAM GLASS (executive producer of Supernatural & writer of Suicide Squad) and PAT OLLIFFE (Untold Tales of Spider-Man).

My Review: You guys really need to check this comic out. I randomly found out about it and I am so happy I did. It really deserves a lot more recognition then it gets. I haven’t heard many people talk about it but that really needs to change. If you guys are into comics and if Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Houdini, Annie Oakley, Thomas Edison and Jack Johnson you really need to check this out because I promise you it is worth it.

This comic brings together such an unlikely team that you think would not work together at all but they work off of each-other’s strengths to make a badass team. They need to save the USS Maine before it is too late. It’s filled with so much action and some very interesting enemies that you weren’t expecting.

I was really drawn to this comic solely for these five unlikely people working together. The only person I never heard of before reading this comic was Jack Johnson. Seeing how they all work together with their different skills is what really makes this comic. I love seeing them all in this unique way. It also makes me want to do research on all of the characters to learn about who they really were outside of this comic.

You guys really really need to check this out. I really hope you do. It’s a lot of fun and such an interesting take on history and all these unique people we’ve learned so much about. I don’t think you’ll guys regret picking this one up.
