review 1: The premise was good, however the writing just didn't live up to it. There were a lot of grammatical errors and parts of the story just tapered off with no explanation. I've read a lot about this particular time in history, whether it fact or historical fiction and I found this a feeble attempt at a wartime storyline. It was okay, but could have done with a few more edits and been another 100 pages or so longer.

I liked the build-up and the weaving of relationships between the main characters, the interesting lives and histories they had lived.
