Dog Days of Summer – Dog Tag

As a little something extra this month I am answering this awesome dog tag. La La in the Library and Jolene from Jo’s Book Blog are holding a Dog Days of Summer month where they focus on dogs for the month. And especially for this they created this lovely dog tag. Anyone is welcome to participate with a post. I don’t read a whole lot of dog books (none really) but I can participate with a tag like this.

So here we go!

Technically that would be Sloeber. My parents already owned him when I was born. Unfortunately he was attacked by other dogs in our street and turned sickly as a result. My parents had to put him down a few weeks later so I don’t remember him very well.

The first dog we had that I named was Minoes, a Maltezer. We got her when I was 9 or 10 since I really wanted one and my parents had been dogless since Sloeber passed away. They were willing too. Minoes was actually in my name. But I was young so my parents took care of her more than I did. Still I loved her a lot. She passed away in 2010 from kidney failure.

No! ._. We have one cat. My parents took another dog a few years ago, called Floortje, and I like to think of her as mine a little. She’s super crazy about me anyway, haha. Even though I don’t get to see her as much she seems to know I’m a part of the family.

I don’t think I have a favorite breed. I like the look of different type of breeds. I think husky’s look gorgeous but I could never see myself owning such a large dog. Smaller dog wise I think I like Maltezers since we’ve had one of those ourselves.

I’m just going to go sink in my hole and say: ‘I don’t know?’ Honestly I don’t. Maybe I read one when I was younger but I can’t recall one now. I promise I will read dog themed books with Merijn. That I solemnly swear.

Scooby-Doo! Are you even really surprised?

101 Dalmatians, Beethoven, any Scooby-Doo movies, The Lady and the Tramp, Up.

I like to think of myself as both. I used to be a dog person as I used to be allergic to cats but as I got older and became more resistant I was able to be around cats more easily and now we have our own cat. It is easier to have a cat. Don’t have to walk it, haha.

One of the things I remember very well about Minoes was when we went to visit her as a puppy before we got to take her home.  Sitting amongst all those puppies and having Minoes be the one that always demanded my attention. Then the day we picked her up we went by car and I held her in my lap on the way home and she pied on me. ._.
