Endless Cards Galore

This year thanks to the free gift from Crafts Beautiful magazine (Oct 2017 issue), I decided to make never-ending cards as my Christmas cards for most of my friends. I’ve completed one earlier (Getting a start on X’mas cards!), and after several weeks I’ve finally finished the remaining three in the set!!

The set provided some really pretty papers, and hence with the elaborate backgrounds, I didn’t have to decorate much:

I’m trying to use up as much of the papers from the set as possible, as I still have last year’s Christmas supplies to deal with! (plus those from the year before last AND the year before that still at hidden at the top of my wardrobe!)

It’s really a case of “practise makes perfect”, though. I realised that making sure the base card pieces meet in the middle – instead of lining up the edges – would make it easier to trim the card base if there’s any slight misalignment.

And only at card number three did I realise that the sentiment at the base of the 2 inner facings can be seen in both facings, and hence using a single sentiment at the bottom would suffice for 2 different looks!

The challenge for never-ending cards, however, remains to be making a good card base when all 4 facings meet nicely in the centre. I’m now using a different set of papers to make cards number 5 & 6, and the success rate remains to be 50%  *frown* Think the thickness of the card used to make the base is critical. Hopefully by the time I finish all my X’mas cards I’ll be having a much higher success rate!
