Autumn/Fall; whichever you prefer, is my favourite season. I was born in Autumn, and Autumn will remain my favourite. The main reason why I like Autumn the most is because I feel like I can finally stretch my body comfortably. I love the feeling of the cold wrap around my body, I am home. I am home during the cooler months.
I found this tag via Lindsey @paradisbooks. I haven’t actually done a tag in a while, so this should be exciting! For me anyway, haha.
- Crunching Leaves: the world is full of color choose a book that had reds/oranges/yellows on the cover.
Immediately what came to mind was In a Handful of Dust by Mindy McGinnis. The colours on this cover are so vibrant and they work so well together. There’s also a kinda creepy vibe to the book as well, which is great in my opinion. (In a Handful of Dust is the second book to Not a Drop to Drink, and it is to my understanding, that you could possibly read In a Handful of Dust as a standalone. I haven’t read IaHoD yet though. All I know is that this second book is told in a different view form the first.)
- Cozy Sweater: it’s finally cold enough to don warm cozy clothing, what book gives you the warm fuzzies?
Oh gosh, I don’t know. There are so many book to choose from! Mmm…. I’m going to say Beautiful Decay by Sylvia Lewis for this one. I enjoyed reading Beautiful Decay so much that I actually ordered my own physical copy online! BD is a YA Fantasy stand-alone novel featuring a girl who can make things decay by just touching them. — “Adele why would you choose a book that sounds depressing for an answer?!” You may ask. Well, dear reader, it is because BD is a great book with an incredible ending. I’m seriously hoping for a sequel.
- Fall Storm: the wind is howling and the rain is pounding, choose your favorite book or genre that you like to read on a stormy day.
Ahhh, such perfect weather to read a book. I’d probably choose a book that would fit the mood I was in a the time. Right now though, I’m thinking that I would probably re-read The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa! I’ve read it 2 or 3 times now, and the story seems to get better and better each time I read it. I’d read The Immortal Rules because the vibe of the story is stormy in my opinion: I wouldn’t know what to do in a storm, and this book is a somewhat dark book already, so in my mind the two (the storm and The Immortal Rules) just go hand-in-hand.
- Cool Crisp Air: what’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?
All the characters that I’d want to trade places with are all characters who have led rough lives. Saying this, I’d really want to be Feyre, from the A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy; more so towards the second and third book. However! I’d be just as happy to be a bug that Feyre doesn’t mind having around, and that she doesn’t kill immediately.
- Hot Apple Cider: what under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?
Gates of Thread and Stone by Lori M. Lee would be a great candidate for this one. There’s fantasy, action, and so much more. I wasn’t sure about what my thoughts would be prior to reading Gates of Thread and Stone.
I’m choosing another book for my answer! I’d love to have The Vanishing Girl by Laura Thalassa to become a big thing. Basically what The Vanishing Girl is about is there are these teenagers that can teleport, but they can only do it when they’re asleep. Ember thinks she’s the only person out there with that ability. It turns out she’s not! There are quite a few other teenagers who can do this. The downside to all of this though, is that for the next two years Ember and the other teenagers are Experimental Government property. Whether they want to be or not. — If you get a chance to read it, I suggest that you do! The Vanishing Girl is one of my favourite YA/NA books to date (and I first read it in ’15)!
- Coat, Scarves, and Mittens : the weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up, what’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?
I don’t read in public. However, the most embarrassing cover that I have would have to be… I actually have no idea to be completely honest with you.
- Pumpkin Spice: What’s your favorite fall time comforts food/foods?
I’ve recently discovered that I quite enjoy tea with milk in it, for the colder months. I also love a good stew in these colder months. That been said though, sushi will always be my comfort food.
- Warm, Cozy Bonfire: spread the cozy warmth, who do you tag?
You! If you want to do it. This tag isn’t a MUST DO anyway. If you’d like to do this for your own enjoyment, then by all means, please do so! Just make sure you tag me back so I can see your post!
