Halloween fun

I love to read Halloween books to my students. I particularly love when a favorite picture book series has a Halloween story that I can surprise them with. Here are some fun ones I read to Kindergarten today:

We love Minerva Louise! The kids were very excited to see her today.

The kids always get a laugh out of Farmer Brown, the cows and that naughty Duck.

Julia Donaldson’s Room On the Broom is a fun rhyming story about helping others out.

Jan Thomas is always a silly hit with the kids.

Those are my “safe” books for kindergarten. I’m not so nice to 2nd grade. Today they got this book–it has a CD of Reiner telling the story and it has sound effects.

In the end, they all love it. I just found out that the characters in this book appear in another book, Tell Me a Silly Story, That now I have to have.

I will read one last Halloween story this week to 1st grade:

They are so excited! Happy Halloween!!
