Sorry. Couldn’t help that one. So today, as I’m sure you won’t have failed to have heard is, the most depressing day of the year. Can’t imagine why as I look outside and it’s pouring with rain, howling a gale.
Blue jeans for me, for many, are a fail safe wardrobe item. As documented a gazillion times, in our often more relaxed way of dressing, jeans can offer more of a level playing field, and give the hi-low edge to dressing – dress up with a jacket or blazer and heels… dress down with trainers and a biker.
I am not a jeans expert, I don’t have as many pairs as I’d like (!). But I do know that I’m in need of some new boyfriend jeans. I’m going to check out John Lewis’s And/Or range as I’ve heard (via the powers of Instagram; all hail) they are worth a try for those of us blessed with more padding on our derrieres and curvaceous thighs.
John Lewis And/Or Venice Beach Boyfriend jeans £99
from the back…
I ‘must’ make it my mission to re look at Topshop denim, always so many great reviews… just not sure its cut for me. I love these below, so many colour and size options available… but I’m after a slightly smarter finish… I’m less into the distressed look… leg oozing through a ‘distressed’ hole is, well, frankly, distressing to all.
Topshop Mom jeans £40
I’ve been a fan of Uniqlo denim for years… Would be very happy to give these boyfriend jeans a go, especially at this price…
Uniqlo £24.90
I’d like these boots to go with them… Topshop Buttercup Sock Boots, £36
Having said I didn’t really want a distressed look… I changed my mind… love the raw hem… and with a more glam/sharp boot as above. I’m sold.
Uniqlo high rise boyfriend £24.99
This jumpsuit has been calling me from Mango… I LOVE a jumpsuit, as some people wear dresses, I turn to a jumpsuit. Mango £69.99
And from the back… I love this 70’s feel – I’d wear this with more of a rounded toe stack heel boot…
Or with trusted Converse, these are leather £49 from Office/Topshop
My old and trusted Gap denim jacket which must be 15 years + old, is in need of a replacement/update/job-share. This military inspired one from Monsoon, £59 is gorgeous
Staying military… these skinny leg trousers from Gap £14.99, were £49.95 in the sale could do a fine job…
This retro inspired watch is a winner too… always a talking point AND practical – say no more, Asos £25.
To end the blues… how about a great coat? Gap – in their near permanent sale… but this is beautiful and will last, and last. Gap £92.99.
So why do they call it the blues with all of this fabulous loot? Moods have lifted already xx
