On a mission to break the global scene with his fusion of future bass and future pop, Melbourne producer illstrtd has already clocked up well over 670k Spotify streams to date across his first 2 singles Pictures Don’t Fade (ft. Mack Moses) and Wings (ft. New Haven). His latest release Let Me Inis proving the perfect follow-up, as are the fresh remixes by HVWKS and Killer Canoe.
Download “Let Me In”Having previously remixed the likes of Lorde and Alison Wonderland, HVWKS is no stranger totaking tracks to a new vantage point. Utilizing illstrtd’s smooth production and beguiling melody, fellow countryman (and vowel avoider) HVWKS, from Brisbane, adds swathes of dreamy synths before surprising us with a furious build and hard drop that firmly pushed the track even more in the future bass realm.
The Killer Canoe treatment is a more laid-back affair; a late night, after hours club vibe. Splicing up the track in a fun and unexpected way, with the vocals siting back in the mix, this re-work leaves space for the chilled ambience to really take hold, but somehow still lead you to the dancefloor.
illstrtd has had a mighty 2017, with the release of his seminal #throwbacktothe90s mixtape earlier in the year (featuring a stellar rework of TLC’s timeless No Scrubs), and support from the likes of Nest HQ and High Snobiety in the bag too. Honing his influences to develop his signature sound, the young talent continues to set the bar higher with each new release – and Let Me In together with the finely picked remixes comes as no exception.
illstrtd’s Let Me In Remixes are out now via Be Rich Records.
