I just finished Immortal City and my head hurts but in a good way. My head hurts because of all the emotional stress Scott has put me through during this book and I have loved each and every single moment of it. I love this book and I wish I can review this book how I want, you know by revealing every little detail, but I don’t want to spoil you. Immortal City is an alternate version of our Los Angels. I mean technically it’s still Los Angels and the people in the book has given it the nickname Immortal City because angels do exist. However these aren’t the angels you are used to hearing about in this book the angels are the celebrities. Think of all the celebrity and celebrity related things such as celebs hawking all kinds of things from make-up to clothing lines to cars and so much more and think about all the television stations and programs related to them. Now in the book all this is promoted by angels. They have events, red carpets and paparazzi following them around and they get paid for saving people. Now enter Maddy and Jacks. Maddy couldn’t give two shits about angels and don’t see the big deal while Jacks’ life is starting to get to him and make him feel disconnected. I love these two together Maddy tells Jacks off and makes him think and Jacks just can’t get enough. They have a chemistry together but it’s easy and not easy at the same time. You can tell that they have something, they fit together but it’s not perfect they have to put effort in and that is pretty cool to see in a ya novel. I wish I could have had a little more with best friends though, Gwen (Maddy’s bf) was a little flat I wish she could have been more developed and the same goes for Mitch (Jacks’ bf). Scott has done a really good job with the plot of this book because okay yes it’s boy meets girl and supernatural high-jinks are involved but it is also a murder mystery. I mean it’s a good story line because the whole time I was trying to figure out who did it and I kept jumping suspects and trying to piece together everything to make it make sense but I didn’t figure it out. Also I was emotionally stressed out near the end of the book. I mean at a certain point this book starts reading like a movie and I got so involved and then with all the action happening and the suspense… I loved it, I was hanging on every word. I am so glad that I picked this book up. Immortal City had an amazing plot, great characters, mystery, romance, glitz and glam, action, plot twist, shocks, murder and so much more. I wish I could describe how I feel about this book, how much I love it. I am excitedly looking forward to the next book in the series, Natural Born Angel. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐Immortal City

Young Adult (Immoral City #1)
Supernatural/Paranormal
Jackson Godspeed is the hottest Angel in a city that revolves around idolizing Immortals like him. He grew up in the spotlight, and in less than a week he’ll become the youngest full-fledged Guardian ever. People around the world are lining up to pay for him to keep them safe. His lifelong dream of becoming a hero is finally within his grasp – and he can’t afford to let the parties, paparazzi, or red carpets distract him.
But Jackson’s high-profile life takes an unexpected turn when he meets seventeen-year-old Maddy. She’s smart and down-to-earth, and sees Jackson for who he is and not for his celebrity. They forge an instant – and electric – connection. Their vastly different backgrounds seem like the only obstacle in their path to being together… until something much more dangerous threatens to destroy their chance at love.
Because not everyone worships the Angels: a bitter killer is murdering the Guardians one by one. And it’s up Maddy to save Jackson – he’s next in the killer’s sights.
Set in a reimagined Los Angeles that sparkles with glamour and celebrity worship, Scott Speer’s Immortal City is charged with passion and haunted by themes of power and idoltry.
