Seems as this is my first blog post I best start by saying thank you for visiting my blog and this first post is in my opinion a good insight into the style and content of my blog to come. I don’t personally like really long posts so I’ll keep this as short as possible (although this was the best trip I’ve had to date so this may be hard).

For my 18th birthday at the end of July my friend and I decided to go to London for a few days as i have never been there. We had booked pretty much everything in advance which is the best tip I could give anyone as there is no stress when arriving at your holiday destination.

We stayed at a hotel called ‘The Bayswater Inn’ and we thought it was a lovely hotel for the few days we were there although some staff were quite rude. On the first day we went to see The Phantom of the Opera which was absolutely stunning and I would highly recommend! Before the show we went for dinner and drinks at a rooftop restaurant called The Aviary which may be a familiar name to many as it attracts quite a few celebrities and I couldn’t get over how beautiful it was and the location was ideal with a view of the Shard and Tower of London. The following day was Harry Potter day and I couldn’t praise it enough I won’t go on too much about it but all I will say is that it is far more magical than you even think, absolute must see especially for Harry Potter fans. The third day we spent on a tour bus looking at all the usual sights like; London Eye, Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace all of which live up to their expectations. We were unfortunate with the rain but living in Ireland I’m fairly used to it! Our last day we spent in Notting Hill, that was quite the mistake as we spent around an hour and a half trying to find the coloured houses (pictured above) which in hindsight was our own fault as we went the opposite was we were supposed to go. While yes they were beautiful I think there were far more interesting and picturesque places to see in London.

All in all the trip was one to remember and the best one I’ve had to date. There was so much to see and do and if you’re thinking about visiting London I would go because the entire city is undoubtedly alluring.
