Lord of Shadows Book Review

Hello everyone!

Today is another book review!  Now, I’ve raved about the first book in this series a little while back, and the second book did not disappoint.  Cassandra Clare has done it again.  I finished this book in 3 days and it’s a 700 page book, so I think you can tell that I enjoyed it.  This book included more reminiscing about the day one cast of Jace, Clary, Alec, Magnus, and more.  It was so nice hearing their voices again and their entertaining humor.  The Mortal Instruments series will forever be my favorite series of hers because it was my introduction to the world she’s created.  Plus it has Jace.  Enough said.  But her other series are heart wrenching and will make you feel feelings you didn’t know you could feel.  (That’s a lot of feeling right there)

Lord of Shadows is a continuation of her Dark Artifices series which began with Lady Midnight.  It continues to discuss the parabatai bond (a warrior bond between two demon-hunters otherwise known as shadowhunters).  We also get to go on another journey to the faerie lands and things are a bit different than the first time.  Also after meeting Kit in the previous book, we learn more about his character and watch him on his journey to figuring out who he is and who he wants to be.  This book is packed with thrilling adventures and tear jerking moments (as Cassandra’s books are known to include).  I simply could not put it down, so I highly recommend it.

Have you read Lord of Shadows?  What did you think of it?  Let me know in the comments below!

xx Val
