It seems that I made my first October TBR list too short because I am already finished with it and it isn’t even the middle of the month yet. So I will be making another list! I got two new books from the library today that I am excited to read. So here is my new October TBR list:
Cujo by Stephen King
Outside a peaceful town in central Maine, a monster is waiting. Cujo is a two-hundred-pound Saint Bernard, the best friend Brett Camber has ever had. One day Cujo chases a rabbit into a bolt-hole – a cave inhabited by sick bats. What happens to Cujo, how he becomes a horrifying vortex inexorably drawing in all the people around him makes for one of the most heart-stopping novels Stephen King has written.
This is my first Stephen King novel and after all the great things I have heard about his work, I’m excited. Also I’m not sure what to expect. I will probably write a review on this when I finish reading it. It is also on the Rory Gilmore Reading List so I can cross another book off my list.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
Christopher John Francis Boone knows all the countries of the world and their capitals and every prime number up to 7,057. He relates well to animals but has no understanding of human emotions. He cannot stand to be touched. Although gifted with a superbly logical brain, Christopher is autistic. Everyday interactions and admonishments have little meaning for him. Routine, order and predictability shelter him from the messy, wider world. Then, at fifteen, Christopher’s carefully constructed world falls apart when he finds his neighbor’s dog, Wellington, impaled on a garden fork, and he is initially blamed for the killing.
Christopher decides that he will track down the real killer and turns to his favorite fictional character, the impeccably logical Sherlock Holmes, for inspiration. But the investigation leads him down some unexpected paths and ultimately brings him face to face with the dissolution of his parents’ marriage. As he tries to deal with the crisis within his own family, we are drawn into the workings of Christopher’s mind.
This book’s title is a little weird but I’m looking forward to reading it and finding out what it’s really about. The discription sounds really interesting. This book is also on the Rory Gilmore Reading List.
The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare
I’ve had this series for a while I just have not read it. I loved the Mortal Instruments Series and Cassandra Clare. I have heard mixed reviews about these books so I’m looking forward to reading them and forming my own opinion. I probably won’t get through all three this month but I will roll over what I don’t get read onto my November TBR.
