The Rep has a reputation for looking after talent – and the New & Nurtured programme gives you the chance to see some exciting new theatre from a range of new writers.

Bonus points for The Rep also for the great line-up of female writers in the programme too – four of six of the local theatre makers are women.
The programme opened with Manjeet Mann’s A Dangerous Woman (21 – 23 September). It continues with I Knew You (29 September – 7 October) – the highly-anticipated new play from Birmingham-born writer and performer, Steven Camden, aka spoken-word artist Polarbear.
Inspired by the true story of William Freeman, a black slave who was put on trial in 19th Century New York, and the first case to raise insanity as a defence, Freeman (9 -10 October) is a powerful drama from local company Strictly Arts.
Olivia Winteringham’s Delightful (26 – 28 October) is a frank exploration of how the state of our minds can affect how we remember our past.
In her autobiographical piece Baby Daddy (2 – 4 November), Elinor Coleman gives a frank insight into the world of sexuality in motherhood and all the things nobody tells you.
Susie Sillett’s (sorry) (9 – 11 November) considers whether life is easy for millennials in a highly-charged trilogy of monologues performed by local actress Phoebe Frances Brown.
