review 1: Some call it boring, but I loved it. Basically, Spencer Baum can write. the author kept the setting largely in one place, and managed to introduce and explain a ton of characters in a meaningful way through back story. The two female protagonists are a great team, and the vampires are disgusting and brutal and make me want to strangle them. This book is basically a set up for a much larger scheme, and I enjoyed the intrigue and the planning. It's like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars meets Alex Rider. Perfect for me. Can't wait to read the next book.
