PITCH PERFECT 3 || Go ahead and add this movie to the list of films that probably should have quit after two. Pitch Perfect 3 picks up with Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and the rest of the Bellas as they’ve moved on from college and try to work in the real world. With all of them feeling unfulfilled, they decide to go for yet another competition as their A Cappella group, vying for a spot on a USO tour for the troops. Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, and Anna Camp also return, with Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins playing a much bigger role than they did in the prior two films, with Banks on as a producer for the film. Trish Sie’s only other feature directing credit is Step Up: All In. Kay Cannon, whose Netflix series Girlboss was just canceled, is the writer. As you can see with the tagline “Last Call Pitches,” this is being touted as the final installment in this series and rightfully so as there are only so many more fat jokes we can take from Rebel Wilson (“if I joined your group, I could be obesity”). Ruby Rose and John Lithgow join the cast.
