review 1: Pitiful. That's what this book was. It had a good starting idea, the main characters when friends since they were kids, and Amy didn't love Logan since always, she develops feelings for him. It was all pretty nice until they have sex, and then go on a sort of date, and Anna Romo, the lost sister, decides that, even when Logan says to her that he's there with Amy, she gets the idea that she can "change" his mind and kisses him, because "no men has told me ever no"...Bitch. Since when you kiss a guy when he tells you he's on a date with another woman? And then when he's like "Stop" you still try to kiss him? Wow, Calm yourself and go searching for greener pastures. And then Logan is not exactly decided, and it makes the whole thing "meh", I just lost inte... morerest.
review 2: I'm starting to find Toni Blake books boring because of all the angsty internal monologue that all the characters have. Live in the moment, don't overanalyse it.These were characters that I was indifferent to. Amy was the sweet matchmaker and Logan was Mike's best friend. They had grown up together and after a kiss Amy decides that she loves Logan and then the whole thing went into juvenile school mode with Amy sending him secret admirer notes instead of telling him she likes him. Logan being distracted by another woman and those endless internal monologues. The most interesting part of this book for me was the reappearance of Anna Romo. Firstly the complete ease with how her return is treated in terms of no repercussions for the kidnapper - I realise the kidnapper had passed away but could a missing person just turn up and it has no legal effect? At least emotionally there were repercussions and I thought the Anna pov's with her anxiety over meeting family members, her rocky relationship with Mike and all the doubts she harboured over staying in Destiny or returning to Indiana were very well done. As a Rachel and Mike lover, the best parts of this book were when they were on page.I'm done with Destiny though and the only decision I have to make is whether I'm curious enough about Anna and Duke to wade through all those monologues. less
