Greetings Eaters and Readers!

Roughly two years ago, Martha and I made an attempt to try Over Easy. But we showed up around 10:30. Rookie mistake. It was wall-to-wall packed with over an hour wait. We chose to go somewhere else, but put Over Easy in our pockets for another time.

We were better prepared this time, with a prompt arrival of 8:15. It didn’t take very long for the other tables to fill up. Before we knew it, people were waiting in line by 8:45. Here’s our quick take on on our years-in-the-making breakfast date:

Hash Brown Rounds ($4.99): Bacon, cheese, caramelized onions rolled in crispy hash browns, balsamic ketchup and spicy dipping sauce

A signature creation, these deep fried hashbrowns are large portions of your favorite breakfast comfort food. Warm and creamy on the inside, they partner perfect with the two dipping sauces.

Seasonal Quiche ($9.99): Crustless seasonal quiche, small spring salad  and toast with house-made jam

Martha asked what the seasonal quiche was and she stopped listening when the server said “…with bacon and cream cheese.” She loved absolutely. every. bite. The fresh, light salad was a pleasant surprise when the plate landed in front of her.

Breakfast Sandwich ($8.99): Over hard egg, cheddar cheese, sweet jalapeño jam, and cream cheese on La Quartier cheddar pan loaf with sausage

Recommended by our server, I got the breakfast sandwich. It was a tasty and unique spin on your typical breakfast sammy — I liked it. The sweet and spicy jalapeño jam and cream cheese were my favorite part. The sweet potato tots, with balsamic ketchup, also hit the spot.

Biscuits and Gravy ($10.99): Two house-made rosemary cheddar biscuit, veggie gravy (onion, celery, carrots, mushrooms), two farm fresh eggs, cheese and chives

Martha’s friend Kourtni joined us and explored OverEasy’s unique take on the classic biscuits and gravy. Adding a meat is optional (she added sausage) and Kourtni said it was all delicious and would have been filling and satisfying enough without it.

If you’re looking for a fresh, modern take on your breakfast routine, we highly recommend getting to OverEasy.

Cheers!
Jaclyn and Martha
