What we have here is a really nice story about soul-mates and how love can last the test of time - twenty years to be exact. You have no idea how much i wish that were my story!Meeting as teens when Mia went to visit her aunt in Europe for the summer, a romance began, changing both Mia and Adrain forever. Distance and young fears pulled them apart, and what happened in those years in between shaped them for what was to be in the future.Mia chose to try to move on, getting married to someone that was the complete opposite of Adrian, and that blew up in her face. While she got 2 great children from it, her husband cheated on her, and compound that with a drinking problem - well that's a recipe for disaster.For Adrian, he was ruined forever by Mia, not wanting to give up on her, but somehow finding him in a situation that made him do it. He got his girlfriend pregnant, in that grey area period of time when he and Mia had started to part ways, and that meant that they were done for ever - at least that's what they thought. The girl that he had a son with though, she wasn't ideal either - aside from not being Mia, she had her own drinking issues, and well, that was too much for him to live withSo we get to current day, where Adrian's put it all out there, moving to Canada to try to win Mia over, and the question that we follow through this story is will they survive and thrive. While we know that they have a passion that transcends everything, Mia's fear of committing to someone and failing seems to be a downfall for Adrian - while not a dealbreaker - something that's pretty close. It takes a trip to the hospital, a horrible car accident that cannot be returned from and an attempt to cut the cord with an unhealthy ex that shapes our story.All the while though, we get the writing that we've come to expect from our great author. It's romantic and there's a great back story, but at the same time we get heat, and we get passion and it's really really hot. I think that there were moments when i felt like i needed to take a cold shower myself, and that's something that i feel has been lacking in some of my latest reads. So....job well done and i hope that you guys pick it up and enjoy.
review 2: After almost twenty years of separation Mia runs into Adrian at a bar. He is back to hopefully win her back. She is recently single and hasn't ever dated since she has been divorced. Even with many years passed Mia and Adrian's chemistry is still electric. There was so much about Adrian that makes you want to love him. He sweet, romantic and the epic tall dark and handsome man.The fact he came back to win Mia's heart again spoke so much for him. The. Mia she has been through the ringer with her past and now her future is starting to be more! This book was awesome it offered romance, sadness, hope, and even some sizzling sexy scenes. They best part is the end! I loved this book!!'I truly believe that Lacey's books keep getting better as she goes. She captivated me quickly and effectively in this book. Sweet words and I loved the ending. I truly loved the fact she didn't leave me hanging! less
