ROMAN REIGNS PROMO/JASON JORDAN/SETH ROLLINS/BALOR CLUB SEGMENT
Roman is not good on the microphone and really isn’t anything special without The Shield. He said that he dedicates his win last week to Dean Ambrose. That was a great sucking up moment. Jason Jordan came out trying to suck-up to him. They definitely wanted you to switch the channel. Seth Rollins came out to tell Jordan to let Reigns have his moment but Jordan said that they’re a great team. Luckily right as people went to the bathroom or started switching the channel, the Balor Club showed up. Finn Balor told Jordan that he knew Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson longer than he knew his dad. The Balor Club said that they were the better team and Gallows called Jordan a “nerd”. Kurt Angle came out to make it a 6-man tag main event as they were about to fight and Rollins and Reigns held Jordan back. Good opener.
ABSOLUTION VS MICKIE JAMES, BAYLEY, AND SASHA BANKS
Yawn. Absolution actually lost after Banks made Mandy Rose tap. Mickie James didn’t even get an entrance.
GOLDUST TALKS TO CEDRIC ALEXANDER BACKSTAGE
Goldust psyched Cedric up for his Cruiserweight Title match against Enzo Amore later. If only Cedric or the division were relevant.
MATT HARDY VS CURT HAWKINS WITH A WOKEN MATT HARDY PROMO AND A CONFRONTATION WITH BRAY WYATT AFTER
Great promo as he said that he will win the Royal Rumble match. A very entertaining squash match with Matt biting Hawkins’s hand. Matt won as expected. Bray Wyatt appeared behind him but they just laughed at each other. Good original segment.
ELIAS SANG
It was good as usual. He told the fans who booed him making fun of Elvis Presley that they shouldn’t boo Elvis. He finally introduced The Miz.
THE MIZ PROMO
The Miztourage competed for who gives better gifts to him. Miz cut them off and said that he’s coming for the Intercontinental Title and wants to inspire the next generation of wrestlers. Great promo and a well deserved “welcome back” chant. Miz should go back to SmackDown! and feud with AJ Styles over the WWE Title.
BALOR CLUB TALK BACKSTAGE
Nice segment with them talking about old times in Japan.
ENZO AMORE VS CEDRIC ALEXANDER
Enzo got busted open by a kick and bled so much that his whole face was a crimson mask. Cedric won by countout. The cruiserweight division is still not working.
ENZO AMORE
Enzo was getting checked out by a medical trainer and was in pain, but made it seem that he was in less pain when Nia Jax came over to check on him. Enzo is entertaining but it’s a weird pair.
KURT ANGLE IS VISITED BACKSTAGE BY THE BAR AND THE MIZ
Kurt was on his phone as usual. The Bar got a RAW Tag Team Titles shot at the Royal Rumble, and Miz then visited to get an Intercontinental Title shot on RAW in 2 weeks. OK segment.
THE BAR VS TITUS O’NEILL AND APOLLO CREWS
Titus and Apollo actually won. If they don’t get added to the titles match then this was stupid booking.
PAUL HEYMAN PROMO FOLLOWED BY BROCK LESNAR
He’s good but he just repeated what he said last week. Kane AGAIN attacked Brock Lesnar (though this time from behind). They brawled into the backstage area where Braun Strowman attacked both and slammed a huge metal wall or scaffold or whatever on them. Yeah… let’s forget this happened.
RHYNO VS SAMOA JOE
Squash match win for Joe.
SAMOA JOE PROMO
Joe said that he’s entering the Royal Rumble match and that he’ll eliminate John Cena first. In other words it’s John Cena VS Samoa Joe at WrestleMania XXXIV.
ALEXA BLISS TRIES TO PROVOKE NIA JAX TO WRESTLE ASUKA
Alexa told a confused Asuka that she’ll tell Nia what she said about her earlier in the show. Later in the show Alexa whispered it to Nia who said “do you speak Japanese? Because Asuka doesn’t speak English”. Lol. Nia walked away but best up Asuka before her match anyway. Asuka and Nia should’ve just stayed in NXT.
THE BALOR CLUB VS SETH ROLLINS, ROMAN REIGNS, & JASON JORDAN
Solid match. Jordan accidentally distracted the referee so he didn’t see Rollins tag in Reigns. Jordan then got in Rollins’s way by accident and allowed Balor to end up pinning Rollins for the win. Reigns argued with Jordan after the match until The Miz and The Miztourage attacked them. Miz hit Reigns with a Skull Crushing Finale and then after walking away with The Miztourage, went back so they could do The Shield’s triple powerbomb to Reigns. Good ending to the show.
